SRG Global, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guardian Industries. SRG Global operates manufacturing facilities throughout North America, Europe and Asia and is the largest manufacturer of chrome plated plastic parts for the automotive industry in North America.
The purchasing group at SRG Global headquarters in Warren, Michigan is searching for a Tooling Buyer whose primary motivations are to build on their solid purchasing track record and take on whatever challenges might be presented by a large, growing, international, and private company.
The Tooling Buyer must possess the skills and knowledge sought below, but more importantly, he or she will need to be emotionally committed to their work and to the company. The successful candidate will be an individual who is highly motivated, positive, and energetic; confident, socially agile, likes to work in a hands-on environment; enjoys a competitive atmosphere; and works well through teams.
Initial responsibilities of this position include:
· Recommends and/or supports implementation of buying strategies that promote cost effective purchasing decisions, which supports increased speed to market requirements.
· Manage new supplier development to ensure Tooling supply base can meet SRG requirements.
· Manage sourcing process including preparation and issuance of Request for quotes relative to tooling used in the Automotive Trim processes with pertinent specifications, vendor communications throughout duration of the quotes , negotiation of commercial, Terms & Conditions, tracking of RFQ progress, and preparation of Quotes summary/evaluation documents
· Conduct in-depth supplier pricing analysis to ensure competitive pricing is being achieved. Performs Market & Supplier Categorization analysis, researches potential sources.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of new tooling standards and procedures.
· Manage commercial correspondence related to tooling suppliers contract/ purchase order
· Identify areas for continuous improvement
· Develop measurements for quality improvements and target settings
· Develop strategic plans and objectives ( short and long-term)
· Other duties as assigned

· Experienced in automotive tooling purchasing practices and processes
· Experienced in automotive tooling design and engineering
· Experienced in commercial negotiation strategies and theories
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent
· Minimum of 7 years of automotive tooling purchasing experience
· Domestic and international travel 20%
