Philips 42" LCD TV Model 42PFL7422D/37

This Television is not in working order! Please read below though for an outstanding deal!!

I'm selling this Philip's 42" LCD TV, model 42PFL7422D/37, I am currently asking 150.00, but I am willing to take reasonable offers. I purchased this TV brand new January 2008 for $1100. One location knew exactly what the problem was once I started explaining and said it could be fixed for 250.00!

It has a broken backlight or a broken module on the board. I have talked with several local companies and explained the situation and gave a brief overview of the problem. I have been told by 2 of those companies that this is a common problem and that they have seen this before. Then best estimate (which they told me it is only a GUESS) would be $250-$300 to get the TV back up and running. To contact the same companies I did for the estimate above, all you have to do is go on Philips Website and under Television Support locate where it says to "Locate an Authorized Repair Center". All I did from there was put in my zip code to locate a place near me ad called them up and explained the issue. When you first turn on the tv, the picture displays for about 2 seconds then it goes black. The sound works fine still and the power light stays on, but the screen itself is black. If you shine a light up against it, you can see a very faint picture which indicates the panel itself works.

Again, I am not promising the repair costs. I am only going by estimates received.

So, if you are an electronic tech and feel you could fix this yourself this could be a great deal since the cost of the parts are reasonable. I just don't know how to do this myself.

Please, only serious buyers contact me. Currently I am only willing to have local pickup...I do not want to ship.
