She is either racing around at top speed trying to expend some puppy energy, or she is asleep. Katy prefers to snuggle against a human form, but if someone is unavailable, she will grab one of her foster parent’s shoes, and bring it to her bed to cuddle against. Katy is most likely an Italian Greyhound/Dachshund mix, but we are waiting on DNA testing to know her true genetic makeup. Whatever the mix, as you can see from her photos, she is a very pretty little girl. We assume Katy is almost a year old, and is full grown at 20 lbs. Katy is somewhat goofy when walking on a leash, but she is still in the learning phase. She loves to go for car rides, and shows wonderful manners while her foster parents enjoy their meals. She sleeps in a cuddle bed on the bedroom floor, but would absolutely love to be invited to sleep with her people.  Katy is a great playmate to other dogs, but would be happy in a home with or without a canine companion. It would be prudent, however, to keep cats and small children out of her environment. It appears that even when her puppy exuberance wanes, she will remain a highly active dog. This dog will make a great companion, but she can not have a passive owner. Katy has some strong anxiety issues; and will require a skilled master, with a firm but loving command, as she looks for leadership to make her feel secure.   Please feel free to contact her foster mom with any questions at kari@trueheartminpinrescue.org. Katy is located in Southern Indiana. **A donation fee of $225 applies for this dog; keep in mind donations are based solely on veterinarian care received during rescue. Note that we are a 100% non-profit organization, and all money received in donations goes DIRECTLY to the care of our rescued dogs.**
