Boxer - Large - Adult - Male - Dog - Joe

Joe was rescued by Homefurever volunteers when they noticed him by himself sitting at the end of a driveway. He was in terrible condition and looked as if he was attacked by other dogs. His sternum bone was pertruding out from his chest but his spirits were bright. That was about 1 year ago and now Joe is looking for his forever home. He is very people orientated and wants to please you. He has a great disposition and wants to be part of the family in every way. He can be a little timid and shy when meeting new people and is basically mild mannered.and quiet. He knows basic commands and will wait and sit nicely for his food and treats. Joe will make an ideal fit for someone who enjoys the outdoors. Joe LOVES to go on walks and will jog along with you if you desire. He has lived with other dogs and likes to play with them but gets excited when he sees small animals. It would be best for him to live in a home without cats or small dogs. He has lived with children and there has been no issues other then he is a big, approximately 80lbs so children over 5 are preferred. Joe is able to jump a standard fence so either a tall privacy fence or other accomodations will be necessary for him to keep him safe. Joe is a very nice dog for people familiar with Boxer breeds. Joe's weakness is his love for shoes so don't leave your favorites out !
