Shepherd - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog - Sanford Needs Help

Hi my name is Sanford. I was found in Detroit trying to keep up with a pack of 8 dogs. When Home Fur Ever volunteers found me, my front leg had a big open wound with my femur bone sticking out and my back foot was completely chewed off. The vet thinks I was hit by a car, which caused nerve damage to my pelvic area. He thinks I chewed off my own foot because of the nerve damage, and my front leg was broken due to the hit. As you can see, my back leg was amputated, because thats all that was left of my foot were the broken bones that were exposed. My hospital bills totaled over $2500, and Home Fur Ever is a non profit NO KILL foster based rescue that needs help to pay for my bills. They believe every dog deserves a chance to have a nice family to love and spoil them. They tell me that there are a lot of dogs that live perfectly fine healthy lives with only 3 legs. From what I hear, Home Fur Ever finds a lot of dogs that are in bad shape, that would normally be put down is someone else found them. You cant see my eyes to good in this picture, but I have 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye which is pretty cool. I have been recovering in a nice foster home with other dogs. I am almost ready to move into my furever home. I will require either another foster home where I can receive more individual attention and additional socialization as I am still skiddish of strangers.So if you cant donate towards my care, maybe you have a nice warm cozy place for me to stay and are willing to work with me so I can be adopted. Oct 4th, Sanford couldn't stand up at all. He was taken to the vet and saw a neurologist on Mon, Oct 5 who said he must have an MRI to determine if he has a disc problem or if something else might be causing his paralysis. The cost of an MRI is approximately $2000. We need financial aid so that we are able to provide this fellow with the treatment he needs so he can have a chance to recover. If you are able to contribute towards his medical care we would be very grateful and so would Sanford. Time is crucial to Sanford for him to have a chance for a positive outcome so please consider helping him. Sanford had the MRI which determined he had a spinal stroke. He must rest and we have to wait several weeks to see if he will start to walk again. Donations toward his test would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
