Description
* { font:inherit; }   Download the original attachment Update 9-10-2009 The good news!!  King’s T.E.C.A. surgery was performed in August.  Post-op follow-up visits indicate all is well and King is healing as expected.  By all accounts, the surgery was successful.  However, King is deaf, and currently unable to blink due to the surgery.  King requires eye drops 3 times a day.  The eye drops are available at any drug store.  In addition to the T.E.C.A. surgery, King was neutered and had his teeth cleaned.  One tooth was extracted during the dental procedure.  King had tumors in his testicles as well, but biopsy results show both were benign.  The foster mom communicates with King through hand signals, which he has learned quite well. In spite of all his suffering, King is a happy dog, who enjoys sniffing around the backyard, hanging out with his canine buddies, and snoozing.  He also enjoys walks and does quite well on a leash.  He happily plays with ‘his’ tennis ball and chew toys.  When his cocker nose detects the scent of a rabbit or squirrel, he takes up a stance that almost resembles a point…it is beautiful to see. King is very gentle and friendly to both people and animals.  He seems to like cats as well as dogs.  Occasionally, he may display very mild possession aggression if one of the other dogs tries to steal his treat.  He eats very slowly and takes treats from your hand gently.  He loves peanut butter and cheese. King rides in vehicles very well, whether crated or sitting in the front passenger seat.  King will make himself at home on your couch; however, gets off if signaled to.  He is content sleeping in his crate, on another dog’s bed, or the carpet.  King does sleep very soundly and sometimes is startled when awoken.  He likes to keep the foster mom in his sight. King is an easy dog to care for despite his hearing loss, but would require a fenced yard to keep him safe.  He is sometimes hard to redirect if he has his sights on a squirrel or rabbit.
