Sheba is a nice size at 42 lbs. Sheba is a very loving and sweet dog. She bonded instantly to her foster Mom and gives lots of kisses and loves her chest and belly rubbed. Sheba loves to be the center of her foster mom's attention and lay on the couch next to her. Sheba does have troublewarming up to new people. She does much better with women than with men. Her introduction to strangers has to be slow. But with treats and patience she warms up pretty quickly. Once she knows you she is your best friend. Poor Sheba was kept outside her whole life and never learned to be an inside dog or to trust people. Sheba will do best in a home with not a lot of comings and goings because she does not do well during transitions. A completely fenced in yard will be required and privacy fence preferred. She chases the cats for fun and plays too rough for her fosters mom's dogs. She would be best in a home as the only dog and probably no cats. Although she does great with puppies! She has come a long way from that terrified dog brought into the pound by her owners. Sheba is making very good progress in foster care but does need more work. She will need someone who is experienced with dogs and someone who will take the time to work with her and bring her as far as she can go. She is crate trained for during the work day. She is mostly housebroken but forgets she is inside sometimes while she is playing and still needs work there. She is crated at night just to give the other dogs a break but she would love to sleep with you if you would let her. If you are up to a bit of a challenge Sheba will be worth the effort in the long run. Adoption fee: $150 (cash only)The dogs/puppies that are posted are available, unless it is stated 'adopted'.
