Description BACKGROUND:
This is a position for an individual who possesses basic mechanical aptitude and has experience working in a production / industrial environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
X Follow all safety regulations.
X Follow all applicable area specific and plant procedures.
X Remove ceramic substrate from automotive catalytic converters using a hydraulic shear.
X Perform preventative / operator level maintenance and prior to use inspections on the decanning shear.
X Complete decanning paperwork and maintain an accurate count of catalytic converters decanned.
X Perform blade changes and basic machine setups on the hydraulic shear.
X Operate forklift.
X Supplement and support production / material handling personnel as required to cover absences / vacation.
X Identify maintenance issues and coordinate with the Mill Operator and/or the Production Supervisor to institute corrective action.
X Ensure all customer lots are properly labeled and separated.
X Load and unload trucks as required.
X Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in the work area.
X Assist in the training of new hires.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
X Minimum of 1 year experience in an industrial / production environment.
X High school diploma or equivalent required.
X Ability to work well with others.
X Forklift experience required, license or certification preferred.
X Ability to follow all safety standards associated with the facility and the decanning area.
X Knowledge of proper material handling procedures.
X Good dependability, flexibility, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
X Familiarity with common hand tools.
X Machine operator experience a plus.
X Hydraulic shear / press experience preferred.
X E-mail system, excel and word knowledge a plus.
