Ajilon Professional Staffing is looking for a SQF Certified representative to manage food quality program for one of our local Michigan clients. This position is responsible for the on-going program management/oversight of SQF Certification, third party audits (AIB, BRC, RQA, etc.), and regulatory visits (FDA, USDA, City, etc.). Will also, to ensure compliance of QA requirements and initiatives.
Essential Duties:
Accomplish food safety and quality assurance compliance and objectives by communicating SQF expectations; planning, monitoring, reviewing, and coordinating policies and procedures, and verification. Audit production quality, and customer standards; recommending system improvements and assisting QA Director with their implementation. Maintain systems to assure facility meets all SQF 2000 certification requirements, including commitment, document control and records, specifications, food safety and quality, verification, product identification, trace and recall, food safety fundamentals, building design and construction, HACCP and pre-requisite programs. Maintains quality compliance by monitoring programs, policies and procedures, SOP'S, audits, documentation; improvement plans, training and audit their compliance. Updates job knowledge by tracking emerging trends in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory requirements, completing benchmark studies; participating in educational opportunities, participating professional networks. Report non-compliance of company policies, regulations and plant safety.
Bachelor's degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field. SQF Certified plus
4+ years of food processing experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment under USDA and/or FDA.
2+ years facilitating food safety/quality related training events.
Demonstrate leadership in the areas of food safety and plant regulatory affairs
Possess a thorough understanding of FDA and/or USDA inspected manufacturing facilities
Ability to analyze processes for Biological, Chemical, and Physical hazards with a thorough understanding of the science and support behind each type of hazard and each step of a production process
