Description of Practice

Mr. Ratib Habbal is an excellent choice as an entry level mediator to help you resolve your dispute. Providing mediation services at only $60 per hour, Ratib is an affordable alternative to high cost mediation sessions that are priced at attorney fee rates. Before becoming a professional mediator, Ratib was involved in resolving many disputes between friends, family, and business colleagues. After years of experience as an amateur mediator where he was told by many that he had a knack for identifying the underlying issues of a dispute, Ratib decided to put his skills to use in serving the community by becoming an approved Mediator under Michigan Court Rules 2.411. Ratib is also involved in the legal field as a registered Arabic Interpreter with the Michigan Supreme Court, which expands his field of mediation to Arabic disputants. Ratib is available to travel, call anytime for a friendly conversation.

Approach

Ratib believes that most disputants' issues have a better chance of being resolved when disputants are provided with a forum that is conducive to reconciliation. That is what Ratib strives to provide; an atmosphere that fosters peace making at its finest. With this optimistic attitude of resolving conflict, you can be assured that Ratib will leave no stone unturned in exploring every possible option. His favorite quote relating to mediation is: "You have two ears and one mouth, so you can listen twice as much as you talk."

Other Information

Leaning back in his chair, Ratib reflects on mediation: "The real reason I have pursued mediation as a profession is because I love peace making, and I believe peace is more than just the absence of war. That is why I have a passion for my work, which may not be found in others who may be lawyers-turned-mediators. Many of them have to struggle with staying neutral because of the years their many years spent being on one side of the issue. I have never practiced law, and I don't have that ingrained tendency to take sides that others may have. This is why I believe you will be happy with my service to you as your mediator, as I epitomize the concept of neutrality in handling issues. I'd really like to hear from you, so please call for a friendly conversation."
