Babe is an adorable sable colored female Holland Lop that was turned over to animal control in on or about 10/1/09. She was turned into a place that would have euthanized her if we didn't take her...The previous owners fed her a diet of alfalfa based pellets that fattened her up so much so she weights 4 1/2 pounds so we are unable to spay her until she loses some weight.Babe looks like a little piggy with rabbit ears and is very active when out of her cage, so she should be at a good weight in a few weeks.The rabbits in Rabbit & Small Animal Rescue are fed 3-5 cups fresh green vegetables daily (endive, escarole, romaine, parsley, dandelion...), quality Oxbow BBT (adults) pellets or Oxbow 15/23 (babies) pellets and unlimited timothy hay. When they are adopted to you, we suggest that their diet stay the same, so you may want to find out which pet stores in your area sells the Oxbow food.
